One of the most difficult things about living with coeliac (celiac) disease or gluten intolerance is finding suitable places to eat out, with waiting staff and chefs that understand your needs and cater for them well, right? Only the other day at a local restaurant, we were told that the creme caramel was gluten free (perfect!), but then it came with a fancy wafer on the side.. So of course we had to send it back and ask for freshly prepared dessert sans wafer this time!
It is true there are some places better than others. We’ve started putting together a list of restaurants and cafes in Yorkshire that cater well for a gluten free way of life, according to recommendations on TripAdvisor, to try and remove some of the stress that dining out with people, can bring. Don’t forget to read our handy hints for eating out here. We’ve not eaten at all of these yet, but are slowly but surely working our way around them ;-) .
